unblock
It's been ages since i last wrote on this blog. It is funny how i thought frequently about it and then put it way back on my ever-growing-shifting list of priorities.
Then there were things that were not appropriate for a public forum, and some which had easily identifiable real people saying/doing what we call 'shame-shame' things.
Then there were my fleeting moments of dazzling wit which are marveled at and forgotten within 5 seconds. i am pretty sure i had some of those last month.
Then there is soul-pouring, miserable stuff; but really this cannot be therapy!
And so on and so forth i scrawl my list of lame excuses.
And then what broke the dry spell? -- (you ask)
A kind word from a kind friend from long back -- (i say)
Thank you :)

staring into the sunny side of things
if you look for long,
at things bright and shiny;
when you come back indoors,
it all looks a bit grimy.

Failure to draw
when my fingers fail to draw,
it is not a matter of pen and ink.
they fail to draw from my thoughts.
they wander, my fingers; caressing through memories.
and yet they fail to grasp a thread and weave.
wallow you must not, therefore, in memories like quicksilver,
for if you draw for a living, you could end up hungry and cold.
ps: lucky for me, i mostly pick others' thoughts to draw.
it is not a matter of pen and ink.
they fail to draw from my thoughts.
they wander, my fingers; caressing through memories.
and yet they fail to grasp a thread and weave.
wallow you must not, therefore, in memories like quicksilver,
for if you draw for a living, you could end up hungry and cold.
ps: lucky for me, i mostly pick others' thoughts to draw.
Waiting for magic
ah mythical worlds.
fill me with immense hope.
in the silliness that we read as children,
as adults become our retreats of assurance.
my dragons, my lions, my centaurs, my dwarves,
worry not... our time will come.
fill me with immense hope.
in the silliness that we read as children,
as adults become our retreats of assurance.
my dragons, my lions, my centaurs, my dwarves,
worry not... our time will come.

A weekend of nothing and everything
A weekend of nothing
took everything away.
Everything arranged itself,
into neat pretentious piles.
As long as it was out of the way,
it was a weekend well-spent
with nothing to do for everything
and nothing being everything enjoyable.
took everything away.
Everything arranged itself,
into neat pretentious piles.
As long as it was out of the way,
it was a weekend well-spent
with nothing to do for everything
and nothing being everything enjoyable.
